"My experience (and my child’s) with Matt was extremely positive and ultimately ‘profitable’, as you will read below.

A few years back, my child, then in high school, took the ACT test without any professional preparatory assistance. My child scored a 26 on that first ACT attempt. With that score, we knew it was not high enough to garner any monetary scholarship from the schools on the ‘list’, and without the needed scholarship money we would not be able to afford the colleges on the ‘list’. Certainly there was also a question of ‘acceptance’ from the colleges on the ‘list’ with that score of 26. We knew that another go at the ACT was required. After a search, we were paired with Matt for 6 prep sessions for the needed prep assistance for the ACT exam, which my child was planning to retake in 2-3 months.

What I was impressed with was that Matt was extremely organized in his approach, was always on time and prepared, challenged my child with work inside and outside of the sessions (but not to the point of overload), and provided valuable tips on how to manage the test. Matt’s approach is very varied. At times the student is quietly working through questions/problems/strategies and at times Matt and the student are going back and forth in an interactive manner, with a lot of questions, dialogue and answers. He works through the problems in a very thorough manner, with a goal of making the student comfortable and confident in what they are doing, while at the same time providing needed tips and strategy in working through the problems.

However, I think the best thing that Matt did was to ‘coach’ my child through the stresses encountered while taking the ACT test. My child is very bright and did well with grades in high school – 4+ GPA. However, the pressures of taking the ‘test’ and doing well added to a high level of stress while taking the exam. Matt was able to help identify those ‘stressors’ and presented strategies on coping and managing the areas of stress. That was what I think made all the difference when my child took the second exam.

On the second ACT exam, my child scored a 32! With that score my child was able to go to the school of her choice. With that score of 32, vs. a previous score of 26, my child received a scholarship from the chosen University worth $84,000 over the course of 4 years. That is a difference maker!

We did use Matt again and Matt did another great job as another child’s ACT score increased from 30 on the first test to 31 on the second test after only 4 sessions. Since the first ACT score was very high, frankly, it was difficult to improve upon. Still, Matt did the great job we expected from him. With that score of 31, my child will receive $64,000 in scholarships over 4 years.

As you can tell, I highly recommend Matt and Next Level Education."

“My son was hit with a sudden crisis at the start of his second semester of Algebra 2. He went from an A to a D- and we knew he needed a tutor. My friend highly recommended Matt who tutored all 3 of her daughters. When I met Matt I knew it was going to be a great academic and personality fit for my son. Matt tutored my son once a week for 2 hours and my son never complained! However, the best part is my son ended the year with a B+!! We couldn’t have done it without Matt!”

“Matt was my tutor while I attended the University of Oregon as a student athlete and was easily my favorite tutor! He is knowledgeable in a wide range of subjects and was great at explaining concepts in a way that was easily understood. I sincerely believe his help as a tutor helped pave the way for me to get accepted into dental school. I highly recommend Matt and his tutoring services!”

“Matt took all three of our kids through college test prep. I am pleased to report that our two eldest were both National Merit Finalists and were awarded substantial scholarships based on their PSAT scores. Matt also helped our middle child earn a 34 on his ACT after six months of working with him. This son started off scoring in the mid twenties before he met Matt. Matt teaches students how to take these tests, how to problem solve and how to work backwards, all of which are useful skills for any academic challenge. Our third child is currently studying with Matt now and reports on Matt's humor, patience and subject matter expertise. Matt also works well with students who have learning differences, and teaches important organizational skills.”

“My wife and I highly recommend Matt. He originally worked with my oldest daughter who attended a public high school that lacked the support resources she needed to be successful in her math classes. Matt was able to provide that additional help to get her back on track and be successful. We then had Matt work with my middle daughter who attended a private school. She had better resources available but still needed test taking help especially for the SAT. With Matt's help, she was able to materially improve her math SAT score which opened up more college opportunities for her. My oldest daughter is studying Environmental Engineering at CU-Boulder with my middle daughter just starting school at Loyola University Chicago.”
